Pascal Bronner’s ”Into the Droame”

The exhibition Into The Droame is the first solo exhibition by British-German architect and artist Pascal Bronner. The exhibition brings together Bronner’s internationally acclaimed architectural drawings, which explore parallel worlds where different characters created and the narratives surrounding them meet.
Pascal Bronner has invented the English word droame, which refers to a state or space where dreaming, wandering, and feeling at home (dream, roam, and home) meet. This is a state or space in the human mind where creativity is born. Or it is the moment when a person begins to engage in creativity, simultaneously switching off everyday activities in their brain. The Droame encapsulates the power and expansiveness of dreams while also embodying the comfort and familiarity of home.
Bronner considers attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to be an integral part of his creative work, driving him to engage in artistic practice. According to Bronner, his ability to draw exceeds his ability to communicate verbally, so drawing and creative activity are a form of therapy that helps him focus, express his ideas, and communicate them to others. The works on display at the exhibition are inspiring to audiences of all ages, hopefully influencing their passion for creative activities. Through his creative work, Pascal Bronner stands for the idea that every person has the seed of creativity within them and that it is never too late to start.
London-based architect Pascal Bronner has been recognised with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Bronze Medal, the Serjeant Award for Excellence in Drawing (RIBA), and the Fitzroy Robinson Drawing Prize. Together with his partner Thomas Hillier, they run the office Flea Folly Architects, whose goal is to create surprising and joyful architecture where functionality is not the primary concern. In his doctoral thesis, Bronner explores drawing as a form of contemplation that broadens traditional architectural and art theory. Pascal Bronner is a senior lecturer in architecture at the University of Greenwich.
