Björn Koop’s exhibition ”1982”

Born in Valga in 1982 and raised around motocross tracks, the designer built a 20-year career within some of the leading names in the European and Asian automotive industry. Björn’s résumé is impressive. In 2004, while still a student at the Estonian Academy of Arts, Koop began an internship at Hyundai and eventually worked his way up to Senior Designer at Kia Motors in South Korea. Among the projects developed under his direction was the design of the familiar Kia Ceed model seen on streets today. From 2018 onward, he continued his journey in Japan at Mitsubishi Motors’ corporate design studio, where he worked until 2024.

This exhibition is, in a way, a drive back to the machines that once inspired big dreams.

The exhibition is open in the lobby of Ajamaja (Rotermanni 6).
