Architect Miia Masso. In Five Acts

Architect Miia Masso: In Five Acts
A personal archive reflects the unpredictability of life. The workshop archive of architect Miia Masso contains materials that reveal the professional journey of an architect whose career spans more than fifty years. The exhibition moves backwards through time, both chronologically and thematically, dividing the work of a single architect into five thematic acts. Each act is guided by an object that has accompanied Miia Masso throughout her life.
The work of an architect who practiced both during the Soviet era and in post-independence Estonia showcases projects characteristic of both periods, including apartment buildings, summer houses, private residences, public buildings, urban plans, and business centres. The exhibition presents a selection of distinctive original materials alongside copies that the architect considered an important part of her portfolio. Together, they create a deeply personal portrait, revealing the individual behind the work, her sense of beauty, values, and understated charisma.
The solo exhibition Architect Miia Masso: In Five Acts opens on June 11 at 5:00 PM and will remain on view until August 23.
